Aramco Digital Unveils 450 MHz Industrial Network For Secure Saudi Connectivity

Aramco Digital plans to deploy a national industrial communications network in Saudi Arabia using the 450 MHz band, aiming to provide secure, resilient links for critical operations. The system is expected to back Saudi Vision 2030 by supporting automation, intelligent systems, and digital services in vital industrial and service sectors nationwide.

The network is designed to give dependable connectivity for facilities and assets that cannot tolerate interruptions. It targets sectors that rely on constant monitoring and rapid information exchange, improving continuity of operations. Aramco Digital expects the infrastructure to serve as a backbone for industrial digitalisation across the Kingdom.

Aramco Digital Launches 450 MHz Network

As part of the rollout, Aramco Digital will offer a full range of industrial digital solutions based on the 450 MHz band. These will include sector-specific connectivity packages and systems aimed at complex industrial settings, supporting different usage needs while maintaining high security and reliability requirements for Saudi organisations.

A new family of smart radios will be introduced together with the national industrial communications network, built for demanding field conditions. The devices feature rugged industrial designs and technologies such as AI functions, enhanced sensing, improved energy efficiency for longer battery life, and on-device real-time data processing to support fast decision-making.

The 450 MHz network will support a wide set of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications across Saudi Arabia. Planned uses include asset condition and performance monitoring, tracking of fleets and equipment, air quality and broader environmental sensing, smart video surveillance, and smart metering to help manage resources more effectively.

Additional capabilities will cover lighting and infrastructure control, plus industrial mobility and fleet management solutions linked to the same national industrial communications network. These services are expected to increase operational transparency, assist automation projects, and raise efficiency levels in both industrial and service-focused activities, aligning with national digital transformation goals under Saudi Vision 2030.

The national industrial communications network from Aramco Digital in the 450 MHz band is therefore positioned as a core digital infrastructure layer. By combining robust coverage, industrial-grade devices, and IIoT applications, it aims to strengthen reliability, accuracy, and continuity in complex operating environments across the Kingdom’s next phase of industrial development.
