Arada Launches Initiatives To Aid Sharjah Residents Affected By Flooding Crisis

In an immediate response to the severe flooding crisis in Sharjah, caused by recent rainstorms in the UAE, Arada has launched comprehensive initiatives to assist the affected residents. This timely intervention includes providing free housing and meals to those stranded by the floods. The initiatives underscore the company's commitment to supporting the Sharjah community during this critical period.

Arada has collaborated with the Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD) to offer emergency accommodation to up to 3,000 individuals impacted by the floods. These residents are being housed at the Nest complex in Aljada, prioritizing the most vulnerable segments of society, including children, the elderly, and people of determination. The first phase of transfers began on April 22, marking a significant step towards alleviating the immediate hardships faced by the affected families.

Additionally, Arada and SSSD are working together to ensure that the needs of these residents, including food and utilities, are fully met during their stay. The apartments at Nest are not only fully furnished but also come with an aid package containing crucial supplies such as drinking water and toiletries.

Food Distribution Campaigns

In a parallel effort, Arada has partnered with local NGO UAE Rescue to distribute over 6,500 food packages to residents stranded in the city centre of Sharjah. This initiative, which began on April 19, was inspired by the compassionate act of an Arada employee. Teams from both Arada and UAE Rescue have been actively delivering aid in key areas of the city, including Abu Shagara, Qasimia, and Al Majaz.

Manbat: Aiding the Community

Arada has further extended its support through Manbat, a social initiative launched in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. Manbat has been instrumental in assembling aid packages for the residents of Sharjah, comprising essential food items such as fresh fruits and vegetables, cooking oil, and canned goods. This initiative is part of a broader effort to provide tangible support to those affected by the floods.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, emphasized the company's role in the community, stating, "As a key member of the private sector, we are committed to providing essential support to as many people as we possibly can during these challenging times for the Sharjah community. We have mobilised a number of our departments and will be announcing further initiatives in the coming days."
