Arab Youth Tech Fellowship Empowers Young Innovators Through AI Capacity Building Initiatives

The Arab Youth Tech Fellowship, now in its fourth edition, is underway at the Abu Dhabi Global Market Academy. This initiative, organised by the Arab Youth Centre, involves 23 participants from eight Arab nations. They are engaged in interactive events and sessions until 17th October. The programme is a strategic collaboration with the Artificial Intelligence Office and Microsoft.

Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy, and Remote Work Applications, highlighted the importance of youth in digital transformation. He stated, "Building the governments of the future begins with empowering young minds capable of innovation. Technology is not an end in itself; it is a means to achieve development and create positive impact in societies. We are delighted to see ambitious Arab youth joining us in shaping the next phase of digital transformation."

Empowering Arab Youth Through AI Training

This fellowship aligns with the "One Million Arab Coders in AI" initiative led by the Minister's Office. It aims to equip Arab youth with essential skills for success in a digital economy. Participants recently visited the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Government Innovation (MBRCGI). There, they explored national initiatives in AI and digital transformation.

The programme includes an advanced "AI Champions Skills Track" starting Monday, 13th October. This three-day intensive course is led by certified Microsoft trainers. It focuses on developing AI Champions who can drive digital transformation using Copilot tools and Microsoft AI solutions.

Dr. Sultan bin Saif Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Vice President of the Arab Youth Centre, emphasised strategic partnerships' role in empowering youth. He said these collaborations build a future-ready ecosystem that equips young people with knowledge and skills while providing platforms for innovation.

The fellowship also aims to foster a globally qualified community of tech talent from the region. This effort reinforces the UAE’s position as a hub for youth empowerment in technology and innovation.

Interactive Learning Experience

Participants will engage in modules covering AI Fundamentals (AI-900), Copilot applications, interactive intelligence at work, and design thinking workshops. These sessions aim to develop real-world AI use cases across various sectors.

The fellowship reflects the Arab Youth Centre’s mission to empower young talents with future-ready skills and engage them globally. It promotes technology-driven entrepreneurship among Arab youth, enhancing their role in sustainable development.

This initiative demonstrates how strategic partnerships can accelerate digital transformation and expand opportunities for active youth participation. It positions them as a creative force leading positive change from within the Arab world.
