The Arab Youth Media Forum is a dynamic platform that brings together prominent media industry figures to share their experiences and expertise with talented youth, media students, and creative sectors. Organised by the Dubai Press Club, the second edition of the Forum will be launched next Monday, May 27, in Dubai.
This event is part of the UAE's continuous efforts to support and empower young people, placing them at the heart of the media scene as a main driver for the growth of this vital sector. It aims to prepare a young and distinguished media generation capable of leading transformations in the media landscape amidst rapid global developments.

The current session will feature various dialogue sessions with notable participants such as H.H. Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Affairs and Youth Affairs in Bahrain, and Dr. Sultan Al Neyadi, Minister of State for Youth Affairs. A new initiative aimed at stimulating creativity among young media professionals will also be announced.
These dialogue sessions will focus on the present and future of Arab youth, investing in their skills, and providing them with the best tools to shape the Arab media landscape. The sessions aim to prepare a generation capable of facing future challenges and contributing to building a developed and influential media community.
UAE: A Leading Hub for Media Events
The event underscores the UAE's position as a leading hub for hosting high-profile media events. With its advanced infrastructure, the UAE has become a magnet for major media gatherings that have diversified and evolved to keep pace with global changes in the media landscape.
The UAE's leadership in hosting major media events reflects its cultural diversity and openness to the world. From global summits to specialised conferences, the UAE is a top choice for such events. The country ranks 10th globally in the 2024 Global Soft Power Index, which includes 193 countries worldwide.
Historical Context and Strategic Shifts
The UAE's rise to prominence in organising regional and global media events is a result of significant developments in its media sector over past decades. Starting in the 1980s with a boom in local newspapers and magazines, the UAE moved towards Arabization through satellite channels and media production companies.
This strategic shift marked a turning point, attracting regional and international channels to launch or relocate their operations within UAE's media cities. These cities have played a pivotal role in shaping the media landscape, solidifying the UAE's status as a leading regional and global media hub.
