Arab Youth Centre Launches New Programme For Young Diplomats From 13 Arab Countries
The Arab Youth Centre has launched the fourth edition of the 'Arab Diplomatic Leaders Programme' under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs. This initiative, in collaboration with the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, partners with global institutions like the Geneva Graduate Institute and Harvard Kennedy School.
The programme aims to nurture future Arab diplomatic leaders by promoting knowledge exchange and enhancing leadership skills. It gathers 46 young diplomats from 13 Arab nations, including the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan. These participants represent some of the brightest talents from foreign ministries across the Arab world.

This year's programme, running until 30th October, emphasises economic diplomacy and international trade. Participants receive specialised training in global trade policies, international economic agreements, and managing multilateral economic negotiations. The curriculum is designed to equip them with analytical tools and practical knowledge for addressing complex global economic issues.
The first week includes intensive training on contemporary diplomatic topics such as negotiation techniques, international understanding, and diplomatic etiquette. Advanced workshops focus on negotiation simulations using artificial intelligence tools to enhance learning outcomes.
The opening session was held virtually under the theme "The Mind of a Negotiator: Tools, Tactics, and the Science of Persuasion." It explored diplomatic negotiation psychology and effective persuasion strategies that aid in building international consensus. Key diplomatic practices essential for young leaders were also introduced during this session.
Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim Al Dhaheri, Deputy Director-General of the Anwar Gargash Diplomatic Academy, remarked on the importance of Arab youth in shaping future diplomacy. He stated, "Arab youth are the future of diplomacy in our region. In you, we see the promise of a brighter future..." He highlighted that modern diplomats must adapt to encompass economy, culture, and technology beyond traditional politics.
Empowering Future Leaders
Fatima Al Halami, Executive Director of the Arab Youth Centre, emphasised redefining diplomacy in the Arab world through this programme. She said it creates an intellectual space where participants become ambassadors of communication and innovation. "This experience creates an intellectual space that redefines the concept of diplomacy in the Arab world..." she noted.
The programme's first phase is conducted virtually with daily training sessions led by experts in economics and diplomacy. It concludes with three days in person and a graduation ceremony in Abu Dhabi to celebrate participants' achievements and share their success stories.
