Saudi-Led Arab States Broadcasting Union Discusses AI And Media At 111th Meeting

The Executive Council of the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) convened its 111th meeting on Tuesday at the union’s headquarters in Tunis. The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia chaired the session, represented by Mohammed bin Fahd Al-Harthi, CEO of the Saudi Broadcasting Authority (SBA) and ASBU’s president. Engineer Abdelrahim Suleiman, ASBU’s Director General, also attended.

Al-Harthi highlighted the significant advancements and positive momentum in all ASBU activities during his speech. He stressed the importance of artificial intelligence and its transformative impact on various media industry aspects. He commended ASBU's technological progress, especially in cloud platforms.

ASBU's 111th Meeting Focuses on AI in Media

Al-Harthi praised ASBU’s investment-oriented approach through projects like the ASBU Link Center, which promises long-term resources. He noted that ASBU’s training courses have set high standards, becoming benchmarks in the field. This meeting followed a successful session of the ASBU Executive Office for Emergency Affairs.

Engineer Suleiman lauded the activities of ASBU’s member organizations, noting significant progress in news and program exchanges over the past year. He highlighted coverage of ongoing events in Gaza and other Palestinian territories as key achievements.

The meeting reviewed ASBU’s activities over the past year, including news and program exchanges, major event coverage within and outside the Arab region, as well as training and investment initiatives. Suleiman emphasized that ASBU has kept pace with technological developments and enhanced engineering services for member organizations.
