Arab Regional Scout Conference In Abu Dhabi Highlights New Triennial Plan And Youth-Led Initiatives
The 31st Arab Regional Scout Conference is set to take place in Abu Dhabi from 15th to 21st November. This event will focus on the new triennial plan, youth-led initiatives, and collaborative projects among Arab Scout Associations. These efforts aim to enhance efficiency, governance, and leadership within the scouting community.
Dr. Abdullah Alturaiji, Chairperson of the Arab Scout Committee, highlighted the significance of hosting this conference in Abu Dhabi. He noted that it marks a milestone for the Arab Scout Movement due to the symbolic importance of this location in its history. The conference underscores the commitment to developing young leaders who can make a global impact.

The conference is organised by the Arab Scout Region and the Arab Scout Organisation. It is hosted by the Emirates Scout Association, which serves as the UAE's official National Scout Organisation. This gathering will bring together young people and leaders from across the Arab world to further Scouting education and youth development in the region.
Dr. Salem Abdulrahman Al Darmaki, Chairperson of the Emirates Scout Association and Deputy Chairperson of the Arab Scout Committee, expressed pride in hosting this significant event. "It is a great honour for the Emirates Scout Association to host the 31st Arab Scout Conference in Abu Dhabi, following over three decades since we hosted the 18th Conference in 1988," he stated.
The conference also provides an opportunity to celebrate past achievements and recognise growth within Scouting in the Arab region. Currently, there are 515,000 Scouts across 19 National Scout Organisations. This reflects Scouting's impact on developing responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities and beyond.
Daniël Corsen, Chair of the World Scout Committee, shared his enthusiasm for participating in this regional event hosted by Abu Dhabi. He described it as a city symbolising convergence, dialogue, and innovation. Corsen emphasised that this conference offers a chance to strengthen cooperation between the Arab region and the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.
Strengthening Global Cooperation
Corsen added that developing work mechanisms and building young leaders capable of making a global impact are key objectives of this gathering. He praised UAE as an inspiring model supporting scouting movements locally and globally.
"This event reflects the visionary guidance of our wise leadership," Dr. Al Darmaki continued, "which places youth at the heart of national priorities and aligns with UAE's overarching vision of human development and empowerment." The conference reaffirms commitment to Scouting's mission of building individuals while instilling values.
This significant gathering highlights Scouting's essential role in shaping active citizens who drive progress within their communities worldwide.
