Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Aboul Gheit Warns Of Severe Consequences From Israeli Actions In Gaza
Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, has issued a stern warning regarding Israel's intensified ground offensive in Gaza. He labelled it as a perilous escalation in what he described as an ongoing genocide against Palestinians over the past two years. His statement, released yesterday, strongly condemned Israel's attempts to forcibly expel Palestinians from Gaza under threats of death or starvation.
Aboul Gheit highlighted that these actions are part of a displacement strategy opposed by both Arab nations and the global community. He asserted that such actions blatantly violate international law. The secretary-general criticised Israel’s military operations in Gaza for their unprecedented recklessness and disregard for human life.

The secretary-general expressed disappointment with the international community's failure to intervene and curb Israel’s aggression. He warned that this inaction would have severe consequences globally. Aboul Gheit accused Israeli leadership of nurturing an unchecked desire to spill Palestinian blood and forcibly displace them, rendering Gaza uninhabitable.
He voiced support for the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory. This commission confirmed that Israel has committed acts of genocide against Palestinians in Gaza. Aboul Gheit stressed that these findings should prompt the international community to hold Israel’s leaders accountable for war crimes.
The secretary-general urged urgent action to halt the ongoing genocide in Gaza, which continues unabated before the world’s eyes. He emphasised that accountability is crucial to prevent further atrocities and ensure justice for Palestinians affected by these actions.
Aboul Gheit's remarks underscore the gravity of the situation in Gaza and highlight the need for immediate international intervention. The call for accountability aims to address the humanitarian crisis and prevent further escalation of violence in the region.
