Arab League Demands Immediate Halt To Israeli Aggression In Gaza
Cairo, SPA – The Arab League has called for the immediate and permanent cessation of Israeli aggression in Gaza Strip, ensuring the entry of humanitarian aid to meet the needs of the people in the area, and initiating efforts to rebuild the strip. The organisation also advocates for the creation of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The General Secretariat of the Arab League (Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector) issued a statement today, marking 57 years since Naksa, observed on June 5. This year's anniversary coincides with what it describes as a destructive war of aggression by Israel against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza Strip. Over 2.3 million Palestinians in the besieged strip are reportedly subjected to war crimes, crimes against humanity, and genocide.

The statement also highlighted ongoing settlement policies, killings, arrests, house demolitions, and desecration of religious sanctities in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem. It criticised Israel's refusal to comply with international law and resolutions that call for an end to the occupation and withdrawal from all occupied Palestinian and other Arab territories.
The Arab League urged the international community, particularly the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibility and enforce relevant resolutions. The organisation welcomed positive stances from peace-loving countries and peoples, especially those that have recognised the State of Palestine as a prerequisite to the two-state solution.
Countries that have not yet recognised Palestine were urged to do so quickly, as it is seen as a step toward security, peace, and stability in the region. The Arab League reiterated its solidarity with and support for the Palestinian people’s struggle to defend their land and sanctities.
The Arab League reaffirmed the continued commitment of Arab nations and peoples to the Palestinian cause. It expressed support for the just endeavour of the Palestinian people to achieve freedom and independence.
