Arab-Islamic Delegation And EU Council Tackle Gaza Strip Crisis And Military Aggression
The Ministerial Committee, formed by the Joint Arab-Islamic Extraordinary Summit and chaired by Saudi Arabia's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, convened with the European Union Foreign Affairs Council. The meeting included Qatar's Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Jordan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Ayman Al-Safadi, and Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry.
During the meeting, the committee discussed the escalating situation in the Gaza Strip and the ongoing military actions by Israeli forces targeting unarmed civilians. This includes the recent attack on tents housing displaced Palestinians near the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) headquarters northwest of Rafah.

The committee members emphasised the urgent need for the international community to intervene to stop the violence perpetrated by Israeli forces. They highlighted the worsening humanitarian crisis faced by Palestinians and called for immediate action to prevent further deterioration.
The committee reiterated the necessity of establishing a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in line with relevant international resolutions. They rejected any attempts to address the future of Gaza separately from the broader Palestinian issue.
Furthermore, the committee condemned all violations committed by Israeli forces against Palestinians, which exacerbate human suffering and hinder the delivery of essential humanitarian aid to Gaza. They stressed the importance of holding Israel accountable for its actions in Gaza and the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which contravene international law.
The meeting concluded with a call for serious political efforts to address these issues and ensure accountability for ongoing violations. The committee underscored that addressing these challenges is crucial for achieving lasting peace and stability in the region.
