Arab Energy Fund Celebrates 50th Anniversary With New Brand Identity Focused On Sustainability
The Arab Energy Fund (TAEF) has introduced a new brand identity, marking its 50th anniversary. This change aligns with global energy sector trends. The event was attended by Minister of Energy Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz and other energy ministers from oil-exporting countries that are members of the fund. The rebranding signifies TAEF's dedication to improving energy security and sustainability through innovative investments.
The unveiling of the new brand identity coincided with the celebration of TAEF's 50th anniversary, previously known as APICORP. Dignitaries present included UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Kuwaiti Minister of Oil Tariq Al-Roumi, Libyan Minister of Oil and Gas Khalifa Rajab Abdul Sadiq, Qatari Minister of State for Energy Affairs Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, Bahraini Minister Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Dainah, and Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister Hayan Abdul-Ghani Al-Sawad.

Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman highlighted the fund's future projects, which will focus on achieving energy transformation goals for Arab member states. These projects will consider the most appropriate energy mix while addressing sector challenges. This approach aims to help member states meet sustainable development objectives effectively.
The rebranding represents a strategic shift to strengthen TAEF's role as a leading multilateral financial institution in the Middle East and North Africa. The minister praised TAEF's board for adapting to decisions made by the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries (OAPEC). These decisions include restructuring the organization and renaming it as the Arab Energy Organization.
The new logo embodies unity, cohesion, and limitless potential within the energy sector. The rotating blades symbolize TAEF's ten member countries, while the circular design reflects its commitment to promoting a circular economy. This rebranded identity captures TAEF’s mission to continue making impactful investments for a stable and sustainable future in the MENA region.
As part of its golden anniversary celebrations, TAEF marked the graduation of its first cohort from the inaugural 50+ Graduate Development Program launched in 2024. This six-month initiative offers recent graduates in the MENA region practical experience in energy finance.
Members from diplomatic circles, industry leaders, and partners also attended this significant event. The rebranding reflects TAEF’s ambition to maintain its leadership position in fostering a brighter future for the energy sector across MENA.
