Arab Coordination Group Partners With Private Sector To Enhance Sustainable Development Initiatives
The Arab Coordination Group (ACG) hosted a significant session titled "Partnering for Impact: The Arab Coordination Group and the Private Sector Driving Sustainable Development." This event was part of the Private Sector Forum of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Group, held alongside the IsDB Group Annual Meetings in Algiers. The session highlighted key initiatives and investments led by ACG institutions, showcasing their global development impact.
The discussion focused on strategic priorities for private-sector involvement in emerging markets. Emphasis was placed on collaboration and scalable development solutions. Infrastructure development and the role of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in promoting inclusive economic growth were also explored.

The ACG is a strategic alliance of development finance institutions that provides coordinated and effective funding for development projects. By sharing expertise and knowledge, the ACG aids developing countries in achieving their economic and social goals. Since its inception in 1975, the ACG has extended over 11,000 development loans to more than 160 countries.
Comprising four bilateral and six multilateral institutions, the ACG includes entities such as the Abu Dhabi Fund for Development, Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development, Arab Gulf Programme for Development (AGFUND), Arab Monetary Fund, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, OPEC Fund for International Development, Qatar Fund for Development, and Saudi Fund for Development.
The session underscored the importance of private-sector participation in driving sustainable development. It highlighted successful partnerships between ACG institutions and private entities that have led to impactful global development outcomes. These collaborations are crucial for addressing challenges in emerging markets.
By focusing on infrastructure projects and supporting SMEs, these partnerships aim to foster inclusive economic growth. The session emphasized that such collaborations can lead to scalable solutions that benefit both local communities and broader economies.
The ACG's efforts demonstrate how coordinated funding and strategic partnerships can effectively support sustainable development goals. Through these initiatives, developing countries are better equipped to tackle economic challenges and improve social welfare.
