AMMROC And Lockheed Martin Strengthen Cooperation With New Letter Of Intent For MRO Capabilities

The Advanced Military Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul Center (AMMROC) and Lockheed Martin have reaffirmed their partnership at the Dubai Airshow 2025. They signed a Letter of Intent to enhance aviation sustainment and maintenance in the UAE and the region. This collaboration aims to boost in-country MRO capabilities, strengthen technical expertise, and support growth in aerospace and defence sectors.

Both companies are keen to explore further cooperation areas, especially in maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) support for key aircraft operators in the UAE and MENA region. This partnership seeks to leverage existing capabilities while expanding them to meet regional demands. The focus is on enhancing operational readiness through improved MRO services.

AMMROC and Lockheed Martin Enhance MRO Cooperation

Jasem Al Marzooqi, CEO of AMMROC, stated that their partnership with Lockheed Martin embodies a shared vision for excellence in defence aviation. He noted that this new step builds on a successful history of collaboration across critical aircraft platforms. "Our collective goal is to enhance MRO capabilities that support operational readiness for customers in the UAE and the region," he said.

Gen. John "Mick" Nicholson (U.S. Army, Ret.), Chief Executive for Lockheed Martin Middle East, highlighted the trust between AMMROC and Lockheed Martin. He mentioned that their relationship is built on years of close collaboration and technical excellence. "It is also an extension of our 50-year partnership with the United Arab Emirates," he added.

The partnership's historical foundation includes authorisation from Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, as a Depot Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul Center for Black Hawk UH-60 helicopter Main Rotor and Tail Rotor Blades outside the United States. This authorisation was received early 2025, marking a significant milestone in their collaborative efforts.

Both companies are committed to creating opportunities for specialised talent within the UAE by strengthening local capabilities. This initiative not only enhances readiness but also supports the development of skilled professionals in the aerospace sector.

This renewed collaboration between AMMROC and Lockheed Martin underscores their dedication to advancing aviation sustainment capabilities in the UAE. By focusing on expanding technical expertise and supporting growth opportunities, they aim to meet the evolving needs of their customers across the region effectively.
