AlUla Trail Race 2026 Registration Opens For Runners Of All Levels

The AlUla Trail Race is set to return from 22 to 23 January 2026, inviting runners from Saudi Arabia and beyond. Participants will experience the stunning landscapes and historical sites of AlUla. This event has become a key highlight on the AlUla Moments calendar, offering six different race distances to cater to all levels, from beginners to elite ultra-distance athletes.

Day One, 22 January, will see runners arriving to collect their race packs before participating in the Kids Run and Sunset Run. The event village, located at the amphitheatre in Old Town, will be the hub for collecting race kits. On Day Two, 23 January, competitive races begin with the 100km ultra trail at sunrise, followed by the 50km, 23km, and 10km races.

The race series includes a Kids Run (1.6km) for children aged five to twelve and a Sunset Run (3km) for those aged 13 and above. More experienced participants can choose from a 10km trail run or a more challenging 23km distance. For seasoned athletes, there is a demanding 50km course and an ultra trail of 100km for the most resilient runners.

All routes conclude in Old Town, providing an exciting finish line for both participants and spectators. The two-day format blends athletic challenge with cultural discovery and community connection. Medal ceremonies will occur throughout Day Two as runners complete their races.

The AlUla Trail Race offers more than just a sports challenge; it creates an experience enriched by community spirit and atmosphere. A fully activated race village will provide entertainment, dining options, music, and recovery services for athletes and supporters alike.

Participants receive an official AlUla Trail Race pack containing essentials like a tote bag, buff, race T-shirt, timing chip, and bib number. Safety equipment requirements vary by distance to ensure runner safety across rugged terrains.

Spectacular Scenery

The event has quickly become one of the region's most unique running events due to its breathtaking backdrop. Runners will enjoy views of sandstone formations, desert valleys, and landmarks such as Elephant Rock and Maraya. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra also features along the routes.
