AlUla Initiates Mud House Restoration Projects To Preserve Cultural Heritage

The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU) is spearheading significant restoration efforts in AlUla Governorate, focusing on mud houses to preserve the area's unique architectural heritage. This initiative aligns with the Kingdom Vision 2030, which aims to protect national heritage and rejuvenate traditional urban landscapes while strengthening the cultural identity of the governorate.

These restoration projects involve rehabilitating the old town, restoring heritage neighbourhoods, and repurposing historic structures. The aim is to maintain their authentic architectural character while adapting them for modern use. Traditional materials like clay, stone, and palm trees are used to retain the original aesthetic of these houses.
