AlUla To Host Educational Seminar On Astronomy Fundamentals As Part Of Journey Through The Stars Series
The Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU), in partnership with King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the AlUla Manara team, is set to host an educational seminar. This event, part of the "Journey Through the Stars" series, will take place on Sunday, October 12, at 5:00 p.m. at the Education Building. Dr. Thamer Al-Refay, a specialist in physics and astronomy, will lead the seminar.
The seminar aims to educate attendees on the basics of astronomy and techniques for identifying its components. The "Journey Through the Stars" series is an RCU initiative designed to increase awareness about astronomy. It collaborates with various organisations, including KACST, to offer seminars and educational sessions in Arabic.

AlUla's dark skies are among the clearest globally, making it an ideal location for stargazing. The RCU has received DarkSky accreditation for both the AlUla Manara observatory site and Gharameel Nature Reserve. These are the first certified dark-sky locations in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region.
