AlUla Camel Cup's Prize Pool Tops SAR 80 Million In Thrilling Races
The AlUla Camel Cup, now in its second edition, has commenced at the AlUla Camel Racing Field, marking a significant event in the Saudi Camel Racing Federation's calendar. With a staggering total prize money of SAR80.960 million, the tournament underscores the Kingdom's commitment to preserving and promoting camel racing as an integral part of its cultural heritage. This year's competition, which started yesterday, features six rounds of races for both men and women participants.
The men's competition, covering a distance of 25 kilometres across five stages, boasts a prize pool of SAR48 million. In contrast, the women's races, spanning two kilometres per stage, have a total prize pool of SAR960,000. Over the next three days, riders will vie for top honours in ten rounds across official camel categories including Haqayeq, Laqaya, Jadha, and Thanaya, with prizes amounting to SAR51.2 million. Additionally, the Heil and Zamoul categories offer SAR24 million in prizes.

Under the stewardship of Prince Fahd bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, the Saudi Camel Racing Federation is dedicated to elevating this traditional sport to meet international standards. This initiative aligns with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives to preserve the nation's rich cultural heritage while ensuring its sports sector is on par with global benchmarks.
