AlUla Ancient Kingdoms Festival 2025 Offers Immersive Journey Through Time And Culture

The Ancient Kingdoms Festival is set to captivate visitors from November 20 to December 6. This event, a highlight of the AlUla Moments calendar, offers an immersive journey through thousands of years of history. Under the theme "Journeys Through Time," AlUla transforms into a vibrant open-air museum, showcasing heritage activities and cultural performances that bring ancient civilizations to life.

Visitors can expect a multi-sensory experience where traditional market scents blend with authentic cuisine flavours. This festival aims to reconnect the present with the deep roots of the past. The essence of AlUla is embodied by its people — Rawis, rangers, artisans, and historians — who share their ancestral heritage through narratives and crafts.

The award-winning Hegra After Dark returns from November 20 to February 14. It offers an enhanced sensory journey under the stars at Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. Visitors will explore the Nabataean civilization in what is described as a "theatre of life," combining light, sound, scent, and taste.

From November 20 to 29, the Stories from the Sky Hegra Drone Show will illuminate monumental tombs with dazzling projections and aerial choreography. This visual performance reimagines Hegra's legends in a breathtaking manner. Additionally, Hegra Candlelit Classics unite music and heritage in unforgettable surroundings.

For those seeking adventure, the Hegra Geology Hike offers a journey through millions of years of Earth's history. Participants will discover striking rock formations and stunning viewpoints. Younger explorers can enjoy the Hegra Children’s Tour, which brings history to life through engaging storytelling and interactive discovery.

Nocturnal exploration experiences are also available at other sites in AlUla. Jabal Ikmah features historical inscriptions and symbols inscribed on UNESCO’s "Memory of the World" Register. The Old Town offers interactive activities at AlUla’s first Escape House, inspired by local folklore.

Incense Road Experience and Ticket Information

The festival also marks the return of the Incense Road Experience, recently awarded in the "Best Arts and Culture" category at the Saudi Event Awards. This immersive journey draws inspiration from ancient trade stories with interactive workshops on incense-making and opportunities to experience its authentic aroma.
