Alpha Dhabi Strengthens Luxury Hospitality Portfolio With 73.73% Acquisition Of National Corporation For Tourism And Hotels
Alpha Dhabi Holding has taken a significant step by acquiring a 73.73% controlling interest in the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels (NCTH). This acquisition was achieved through the exchange of shares, following the sale of assets from Alpha Dhabi Hospitality Holding LLC (ADHH) and Murban Energy Limited to NCTH. This move strengthens both NCTH's position and Alpha Dhabi Holding's investment in luxury hospitality.
The transaction involves transferring four key hotel assets, including two renowned luxury properties in Abu Dhabi: The St. Regis Saadiyat Island Resort and Al Wathba, a Luxury Collection Desert Resort & Spa. Additionally, it includes the ultra-luxury Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives and the newly opened Cheval Blanc Seychelles.

By consolidating its hotel business under NCTH, Alpha Dhabi Holding aims to enhance growth and diversification. The transfer includes ADHH, Murban (BVI) Holding Inc., and Hill View Resorts. This strategic move increases NCTH’s portfolio to eight hotels with nearly 1,500 keys, significantly boosting its hospitality offerings.
NCTH's existing properties include InterContinental Abu Dhabi and InterContinental Residences Abu Dhabi. Other notable locations are Danat Al Ain Resort, Danat Jebel Dhanna Resort, and Dhafra Beach Hotel. NCTH also offers services in catering, retail, and transportation.
Eng. Hamad Salem Al Ameri, CEO and Managing Director of Alpha Dhabi Holding, stated that this transaction highlights their dedication to creating value in high-potential sectors like luxury tourism. He said it aligns with their strategy for sustainable growth within the UAE market and internationally.
Hany Farag, CEO of NCTH, expressed enthusiasm about integrating these prestigious assets into their portfolio. He noted that this marks a new chapter for NCTH as it positions itself as a leader in international luxury hospitality by building a globally competitive portfolio.
The additional destinations will offer guests exceptional experiences while contributing to the UAE’s flourishing tourism sector. This integration is expected to bolster NCTH's standing as a prominent player in the luxury hospitality industry worldwide.
