ALECSO Executive Council Concludes 124th Session With Significant Resolutions For Future Governance

The Executive Council of the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization (ALECSO), led by Saudi Arabia, convened its 124th session in Cairo on December 3–4. Several resolutions were adopted, including forming a committee to enhance the organization's governance framework and establishing another to draft a mechanism for selecting experts. Additionally, the council approved the 2026 joint training program and initiated the Arab Center for Career Development.

During this session, member states praised Saudi Arabia for its leadership in advancing the committee's work on developing the General Conference mechanism. This committee, proposed and chaired by Saudi Arabia since January 2025, has made significant progress in identifying challenges and suggesting practical solutions. The council recommended that this committee present its final report to the General Conference in March 2026.
