ALC Launches Paper And Pen Programme To Enhance Sustainable Reading In The Community

The Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre (ALC), under the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has introduced the ‘Paper and Pen’ Programme. This initiative, in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Media Network, aims to enhance the Arabic language's presence in cultural and media spaces. It aligns with the UAE's vision of making Arabic a key part of national identity and knowledge development.

The programme is part of a broader campaign to encourage sustainable reading habits. This effort coincides with the UAE's declaration of 2025 as the Year of Community. The campaign seeks to make reading a daily practice and deepen young people's appreciation for Arabic throughout the year.

ALC Introduces Paper and Pen Programme

Rania Younes hosts this programme, which is available in radio and video formats. Broadcasts occur every Wednesday on Star FM, while video episodes are shared on social media platforms of both ALC and Abu Dhabi Media Network. This ensures broad access for various audiences.

Educational Content and Interactive Style

The ‘Paper and Pen’ Programme stands out due to its educational content paired with an interactive approach. It addresses common errors in Arabic usage, providing simplified insights that boost linguistic awareness. This encourages correct language practices across all age groups in everyday life.

Bridging Culture and Modern Media

By blending accurate information with an accessible style, the programme connects culture with modern media platforms. It supports ALC’s reading initiatives and educational activities within its community campaign. Additionally, it strengthens partnerships with social institutions, especially media, to launch sustainable knowledge initiatives promoting Arabic's role in society.

The initiative underscores ALC's dedication to creating innovative tools that nurture linguistic culture within communities. It sets the stage for future projects addressing contemporary needs, positioning Abu Dhabi as a cultural hub. This highlights the UAE’s leadership in spreading knowledge and equipping future generations with essential language skills for a better future.
