Al-Tamariyat Seed Station Earns Prestigious GLOBAL G.A.P. Certification

The National Center for Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification (NCVC) has announced that its Al-Tamariyat Wild Seed Production Station in Al-Jouf has been awarded the prestigious Global Good Agricultural Practices (GLOBAL G.A.P.) certification. This internationally recognized certification is granted to farms that adhere to strict agricultural production standards, ensuring food safety, worker welfare, and sustainable farming practices.

The certification was issued by the GLOBAL G.A.P. organization in Germany through an Italian certification body and includes a unique GGN reference number—a cross-category consumer label that represents certified, responsible farming and transparency. By implementing GLOBAL G.A.P. standards, the station ensures sustainable environmental management while promoting the health and well-being of its workforce.

The NCVC is actively engaged in the development, protection, and rehabilitation of vegetation cover sites, as well as the planting of green belts to stabilize sand dunes. These efforts reflect the national commitment to sustainability, preserving the environmental heritage for future generations, and empowering them as decision-makers in land issues and drought challenges.

The certification covers a comprehensive range of criteria, including biodiversity, worker health, safety, and welfare, integrated crop and pest management, quality control systems, and hazard analysis. The station's certification continues the NCVC's efforts to implement international standards in quality management systems, enhance the efficiency of delivered services, and remain committed to increasing productivity and operational efficiency.
