Sharjah's Al Qasimia University And Charity To Enhance Arabic Education In Africa

Al Qasimia University and Sharjah Charity International have formalised a partnership to enhance national skills, share expertise, and support sustainable development goals. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Monday at the university's Sharjah headquarters by Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Chairman of SCI, and Professor Jamal Al Tarifi, President of Al Qasimia University.

The agreement focuses on launching educational initiatives in West African nations to promote Arabic language and Holy Qur'anic studies among children and citizens. Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi highlighted that this collaboration aims to strengthen their existing partnership and expand their reach. The first joint project, a centre for memorising the Holy Qur'an in Ghana, has already been completed.

Professor Jamal Al Tarifi emphasised that the MoU facilitates the exchange of professional experiences in training and scientific research. It also aims to organise scientific conferences and forums to discuss advancements and best practices in charitable work. This initiative will help build a robust framework for humanitarian efforts.

Promoting Charitable Culture

The agreement also seeks to instil a culture of charitable and volunteer work among Al Qasimia University students, who come from over 123 different nationalities. This initiative is expected to foster a sense of community service and global citizenship among the students.

Implementation of Charitable Projects

Sheikh Saqr bin Mohammed Al Qasimi confirmed that many more educational projects will be implemented in countries included in the association's aid programmes. The university will provide teachers for these centres, ensuring quality education in Arabic language and Holy Qur'anic sciences.
