Al Qasimia University And Kazakhstan's Al-Farabi University Sign MoU To Enhance Academic Ties
Al Qasimia University and Kazakhstan’s Al-Farabi National University have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to enhance academic collaboration and research across multiple fields. The initiative will facilitate the exchange of expertise, joint studies, and research projects between the two universities.
The MoU was signed at Al-Farabi National University in Almaty, Astana. Professor Awad Al-Khalaf represented Al Qasimia University, while Professor Yerkin Duyssenov, First Vice-President of Al-Farabi National University, signed for the Kazakh institution. Senior faculty and administrative members from both universities attended the event.

The agreement encompasses various collaborative activities such as faculty exchanges, student visits, and sharing academic publications. Both institutions will also organise joint scientific and cultural events. Additionally, they plan to collaborate on training programmes and co-supervise academic theses to improve research quality and encourage academic exchange.
Professor Awad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University, emphasised the significance of this partnership with Al-Farabi National University. He stated that it aligns with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Ruler of Sharjah and founder of the university. The goal is to foster global academic engagement and scientific collaboration.
Professor Duyssenov expressed that partnering with Al Qasimia University offers a valuable chance to share academic knowledge and expertise. He noted that Al-Farabi National University values its connections with esteemed global institutions like Al Qasimia, recognised as a centre of knowledge promoting balance within the region.
Duyssenov highlighted that this collaboration would span various academic and research areas. It will benefit from Al Qasimia University's pioneering experience in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. He expressed optimism that this would aid curriculum development and create shared educational opportunities.
This partnership aims to bridge knowledge gaps and foster academic bonds with universities worldwide. It seeks to enhance the integration and dissemination of scholarly information through collaborative efforts.
