Al Marmoom Heritage Festival 2024 Programme Unveiled By DCRC
The Dubai Camel Racing Club (DCRC) has recently announced the schedule for the highly anticipated Al Marmoom Heritage Festival. Set to unfold from March 13th to 28th, 2024, the festival is poised to showcase the rich cultural tapestry of the United Arab Emirates through the traditional sport of camel racing. Participants in this esteemed event will compete for an array of prestigious awards, including golden swords, guns, daggers, and various other prizes and trophies.
In preparation for the festival, the DCRC's Maintenance Department is actively engaged in ensuring that all necessary arrangements are in place. This includes meticulous track maintenance to guarantee both the safety of participants and the seamless progression of events. Such diligent preparations underscore the significance of camel racing within the UAE's cultural heritage and the leadership's dedication to preserving this traditional sport.

Reflecting the UAE leadership's commitment to camel racing as an integral part of the nation's cultural legacy, the Al Marmoom Heritage Festival aims to inspire younger generations. It seeks to instill an appreciation for camel racing and its importance in embodying the values of the UAE. Coinciding with the Holy Month of Ramadan, the festival introduces significant modifications to its race programme. Notably, it will feature one evening race per day, allowing both spectators and competitors to engage with the event in a festive atmosphere during this sacred time.
Race Programme Details
The festival is set to host a total of 316 rounds of races, with a specific allocation of rounds for different participants. Seventy-six rounds will be dedicated to the camels owned by Sheikhs, while 240 rounds will cater to those owned by tribesmen. In terms of awards, 44 symbols will be distributed, with 16 designated for Sheikhs' camels and 28 for tribesmen's camels. This distribution not only highlights the competitive spirit of the festival but also its role in celebrating and reinforcing camel racing's enduring legacy within Emirati culture.
