Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club Takes Lead On Day Two Of Khaled Bin Mohamed Championship In Abu Dhabi
The eighth and final round of the Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Jiu-Jitsu Championship took place at Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi. The venue was filled with spectators as the competition reached its climax. Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club led the team standings, with Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club and Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club following closely. Fans eagerly anticipate the thrilling conclusion as teams vie for the overall title.
Saturday's events showcased the Under-14 and Under-16 divisions in the Gi category. Both male and female athletes displayed exceptional skills, combining technical precision with tactical discipline and strong physical conditioning. The competition highlighted the growing talent pool within UAE jiu-jitsu.

Several notable figures attended the event to present medals, including Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Eng. Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri from Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development; Ahmed Fadhel Al Mehairbi from Abu Dhabi City Municipality; Fahad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Khalaf Salem Al Wahdi from Abu Dhabi Sports Council; Mohamed Al Hammadi from Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank; and Hassan Al Shamsi also from Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank.
Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri remarked on the second day's competition, highlighting jiu-jitsu's growth in the UAE in terms of technical development and community involvement. He noted that "the intensity of today’s matches and the skill level on display show that the UAE has a strong generation of young athletes ready to take the sport forward."
Mohamed Nabih Omar from Egypt, whose daughters competed in various categories, expressed how this championship is eagerly anticipated by families each year. "This championship has become an event families look forward to every year," he said. "It brings people together and promotes important values like discipline, determination, and respect."
Majid Saeed Al Nahdi from Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club achieved gold in the Under-14 (45kg) grey belt division. Winning in this final round held special significance for him. "Standing on the podium today feels amazing," he shared. "My dream is to represent the UAE national team at international championships in the future."
Final Day Anticipation
The championship concludes with competitions for Under-12 and Kids divisions, followed by an awards ceremony to crown both Gi and No-Gi champions. This event not only celebrates athletic excellence but also marks significant progress in promoting jiu-jitsu within the UAE.
