Al Hajeri Engages With Laos Deputy Prime Minister To Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation Across Key Sectors
Saeed Al Hajeri, Minister of State, welcomed Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of Laos, along with Santiphab Phomvihane, Minister of Finance, and Dr. Boviengkham Vongdara, Minister of Technology and Communications. The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) headquarters during their visit to the UAE.
The discussions focused on strengthening the bilateral relationship between the UAE and Laos. Both sides explored potential areas for collaboration in economy, technology, and renewable energy. They also addressed several topics of shared interest.

Al Hajeri praised the strong ties between the UAE and Laos. He emphasised their commitment to enhancing cooperation in economic and investment sectors. This includes efforts to finalise agreements on avoiding double taxation and promoting investment protection, which are crucial for sustainable development in both nations.
Both parties exchanged views on regional and international developments. They discussed collaboration in technology, artificial intelligence (AI), and infrastructure. Opportunities for partnerships between relevant entities in these promising sectors were also considered.
Al Hajeri expressed his eagerness to make an official visit to Laos. He affirmed the UAE's dedication to ongoing cooperation with Laos across various fields of mutual interest.
The meeting included participation from Omran Sharaf, Assistant Foreign Minister for Advanced Science and Technology, Abdulla Balalaa, Assistant Minister for Energy and Sustainability Affairs, along with other senior officials from MoFA.
