Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition 2025 Opens In Sharjah With Focus On Sustainable Farming Practices
Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak, Minister of Climate Change and the Environment, attended the grand opening of the second Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition in Sharjah. This four-day event, organised by Expo Centre Sharjah with support from the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) and the Department of Agriculture and Livestock, is a pioneering agricultural exhibition in the region.
The exhibition gathers key figures from the agricultural sector, including farmers and government officials. Over 40 leading agriculture and livestock companies are participating. The opening ceremony was attended by Mohammed Saeed Al Nuaimi, Under-Secretary of MOCCAE, Abdallah Sultan Al Owais, Chairman of SCCI, and other notable figures.

Dr. Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak emphasised that the exhibition reflects His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi's vision for supporting farmers in Sharjah. She highlighted that these efforts aim to promote domestic products and strengthen national food security through significant agricultural projects.
She stated that initiatives like the Al Dhaid Agriculture Exhibition empower local farmers to play a crucial role in achieving the National Food Security Strategy 2051 goals. By increasing local production, reliance on imports can be reduced, enhancing self-sufficiency.
The exhibition showcases advanced agricultural technologies with a focus on wheat and grain cultivation. It highlights sustainable solutions such as hydroponic and vertical farming to optimise water usage and boost productivity. Smart irrigation systems and eco-friendly fertilisers are also featured.
Abdallah Sultan Al Owais noted that the exhibition aligns with UAE's rapid agricultural growth, showcasing its commitment to food security and sustainable development. Increased production supported by innovative technologies has positively impacted GDP and employment opportunities.
Exhibition Success
Saif Mohammed Al Midfa affirmed Expo Centre Sharjah’s dedication to including flagship agricultural events in its calendar. The success of last year's inaugural edition is evident in this year’s nearly doubled exhibitor participation, solidifying its status as a key platform for industry leaders.
This edition covers various aspects of agriculture such as aquaculture, ornamental plants, machinery, financial services, and consultations. It also presents techniques for small-scale farming, indoor ornamentals, beekeeping, food processing, and packaging.
The exhibition is open to visitors daily from 10:00 to 19:00. It aims to provide comprehensive support through training programmes for local farmers while launching projects incorporating climate-smart technologies led by the National Agricultural Centre under the ‘Plant the Emirates’ programme.
