ADCMC Activates Al Dhafra Coordination And Monitoring Centre To Boost Crisis Readiness
The Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre - Abu Dhabi has activated its Coordination and Monitoring Centre in the Al Dhafra region, creating a dedicated hub closer to key sites. The move aims to strengthen emergency preparedness and response in one of Abu Dhabi’s largest, most diverse and economically important areas.
By bringing operations nearer to Al Dhafra, the Coordination and Monitoring Centre supports faster, more context-aware decisions. The activation forms part of a wider plan by the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre - Abu Dhabi to expand its field presence across the emirate, aligning emergency planning with each region’s geography and specific risks.

Dr. Abdulla Hamarain Al Dhaheri, Executive Director of the Response and Recovery Sector at the Emergencies, Crises and Disasters Management Centre - Abu Dhabi, highlighted the strategic importance of the step. Dr. Abdulla Hamarain Al Dhaheri said, "The activation of the Coordination and Monitoring Centre in Al Dhafra represents a critical strategic step. The region’s enormous geographic expanse, environmental diversity, and strategic economic importance require a tailored approach to preparedness and coordination, in line with the Abu Dhabi Government’s vision to enhance crisis readiness throughout the emirate and develop a robust, integrated response system."
Describing the operational shift, Dr. Abdulla Hamarain Al Dhaheri added, "This activation marks a shift from a centrally focused response model to a more balanced approach, one defined by distributed capabilities and proximity to potential incident sites." Dr. Abdulla Hamarain Al Dhaheri continued, "This step is part of the Centre’s broader mission to establish a crisis management framework grounded in spatial flexibility and institutional integration, ultimately strengthening Abu Dhabi’s capacity to protect its community and economy against any emerging challenges."
The activation of the Coordination and Monitoring Centre in Al Dhafra becomes an additional element within Abu Dhabi’s crisis management system. It supports a more agile and adaptive structure that reflects the character of each region, raises field readiness, deepens cooperation with partners, and aims to deliver a high standard in emergency, crisis and disaster management across the emirate.
