Al-Baha Region's Strategic Road Projects Enhance Traffic Efficiency And Support Economic Growth

The Roads General Authority is prioritising infrastructure development and maintenance in line with Saudi Vision 2030. This initiative aims to achieve top safety and efficiency standards. Al-Baha Region, known for its unique geography of mountains and valleys, relies heavily on its road network. This network connects various towns and villages and integrates the region with the rest of the Kingdom.

Eng. Misfer bin Mosleh Al-Malki, Director General of the Ministry of Transport and Logistic Services' branch in Al-Baha Region, highlighted ongoing strategic projects. These initiatives aim to enhance road efficiency while boosting tourism and economic activity. He mentioned that over 129 kilometres of single-lane asphalt roads and more than 73 kilometres of dual carriageways are under construction.

Al-Baha Enhances Roads for Tourism and Economy

The authority manages over 2,600 kilometres of asphalt roads, including key mountain passes in Sarawat and Tihama. Nearly SAR200 million has been allocated for their preparation, quality assurance, and safety through various maintenance projects. This investment underscores the commitment to improving traffic flow and supporting tourism and economic growth in the region.

Efforts also extend to maintaining dirt roads and operating tunnel lighting and ventilation systems. These measures reflect a dedication to enhancing traffic conditions across the region. The focus on infrastructure is crucial for connecting governorates, towns, and villages within Al-Baha.

A package of strategic projects worth nearly SAR100 million is currently underway. These projects have positively impacted safety levels by reducing accident rates. They also enhance road infrastructure efficiency in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030's objectives.
