Al-Baha Walking Tracks Promote Ramadan Activity For Residents And Families

Public Al-Baha walking facilities recorded heavy use during the month of Ramadan, as residents chose them for exercise before Iftar and after Taraweeh prayers. Families and individuals walked in a calm spiritual setting, using paths designed to be safe and suitable for different age groups.

Walking during Ramadan is seen as a gentle activity that suits fasting individuals. Health specialists note that it helps blood circulation, supports digestion after Iftar, and improves mental well-being. Many visitors therefore used Al-Baha walking facilities as part of their daily Ramadan routine.

Al-Baha opens 43 Ramadan walking tracks

The strong turnout is linked to projects carried out by Al-Baha Municipality to upgrade Al-Baha walking facilities. The municipality developed an integrated network of walking routes in Al-Baha City, its governorates, and affiliated centres, to bring exercise options closer to homes and public services.

According to municipal data, 43 walking tracks have been completed across the region, with total lengths of more than 53,000 linear metres. These Al-Baha walking facilities are placed in key locations near residential neighbourhoods and public amenities, so residents can reach them easily without long travel times.

Development works at Al-Baha walking facilities included several supporting services. The municipality installed modern lighting poles, seating areas, planting basins, car parks, and public facilities. These elements aim to improve comfort and safety, and make the paths accessible to different groups, including youth, families, and older people.

Mayor of Al-Baha Region Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Sawat stated that these Al-Baha walking facilities have become a main destination for families, youth, and the elderly during Ramadan. Dr. Ali bin Mohammad Al-Sawat confirmed the municipality’s focus on providing paths that meet safety and quality standards, with increased maintenance, cleaning, and field monitoring to keep them ready for visitors throughout the holy month.
