Al-Angari Discusses Supreme Audit Institutions' Role In Digitalization And Sustainability At Global Summit
Dr. Hussam bin Abdulmohsen Al-Angari, who leads the Saudi General Court of Audit (GCA), took part in the global summit for Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) on November 18-19 in Tbilisi, Georgia. The event, titled "Global Summit on SAI Audits Contributing to Digitalization and Sustainability," gathered leaders from SAIs worldwide, including Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Georgia, Salman bin Abdulrahman Al Al-Sheikh.
During a session for leaders, Dr. Al-Angari highlighted Saudi Arabia's progress towards sustainability since the launch of Vision 2030 in 2016. He attributed this advancement to economic diversification, technological innovation, and environmental sustainability efforts. The Saudi Green Initiative and the Middle East Green Initiative are key projects under this vision.

The Kingdom's emphasis on digital transformation is a crucial element of its governance strategy. Dr. Al-Angari pointed out that Saudi Arabia has made significant improvements in the United Nations E-Government Development Index (EGDI). The country climbed 25 spots to secure fourth place globally and first regionally in the 2024 index.
Dr. Al-Angari stressed the importance of SAI's role in achieving sustainable development and digital transformation goals efficiently. This is achieved by adhering to principles of transparency, accountability, and good governance in both national and international programs.
He also emphasized that SAIs are committed to enhancing public financial resource management efficiency. This commitment is vital for ensuring that sustainability strategies are effectively implemented and institutional development is achieved at high accountability levels.
In his concluding remarks, Dr. Al-Angari underscored the significance of using data and modern technologies in decision-making processes. This approach ensures transparency and effectiveness while aligning initiatives with global objectives.
