Al Ain Farms Group And Food Tech Valley To Develop Logistics Hub Enhancing UAE Food Security

Al Ain Farms Group (AAFG) and Food Tech Valley, a Dubai government-supported food innovation hub, have partnered to establish a 260,000 sq.ft. logistics centre in Dubai. This initiative aims to enhance the UAE's food security, speed up the distribution of fresh produce, and support the nation's Net Zero 2050 goals. The announcement was made at the Future Food Forum 2025 under the Ministry of Economy and Tourism's patronage.

The logistics hub will be strategically located to reduce delivery distances, thereby cutting CO₂ emissions by approximately 2,500 tonnes annually and lowering fleet emissions by up to 35%. This aligns with the UAE’s sustainability and food security objectives. The facility will enable faster deliveries and improved efficiency, ensuring that consumers receive fresher and higher-quality products.

New Logistics Hub to Boost UAE Food Security

Hassan Safi, Group CEO of Al Ain Farms Group, stated, "This hub is a testament to the power of strong partnerships in the UAE, driving greater in-country value." He highlighted that collaborating with Food Tech Valley allows for quicker delivery of fresher food while bolstering the local economy and talent pool. The partnership promises a 33% boost in delivery efficiency while reducing waste.

Ahmed Al Shaibani, Director of Food Tech Valley, remarked on their mission: "Food Tech Valley was created to drive innovation and sustainability in the UAE’s food ecosystem. This partnership with Al Ain Farms Group reflects our mission to build advanced infrastructure." He noted that this collaboration enhances supply chain efficiency and resilience while paving the way for new technologies.

The construction of this facility is set to commence by late 2025 with completion expected in Q1 2027. It will significantly bolster supply chain resilience within the region. Over a hundred jobs are anticipated to be generated across logistics and operations sectors as part of this project.

By utilising local expertise and resources, AAFG aims to create a sustainable food system that benefits both communities and partners. The collaboration lays groundwork for future innovations aligned with the UAE’s vision for a smarter, greener future.

This strategic move not only strengthens local supply chains but also opens opportunities for future collaborations advancing national food sector security. The integration of advanced technology into operations further supports these goals.
