Al Ain Community Run Challenge Set For May 4 At Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium To Promote Fitness
The Al Ain Community Run Challenge is set for 4th May at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, Al Ain. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, this event aims to promote fitness and sports culture among all community segments. Organised by the Sheikh Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan Cultural Centre with the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, it encourages regular physical activity in a safe and inclusive setting.
Participants of all ages and abilities can join the run, choosing from various distances that match their fitness levels. This approach highlights the organisers' dedication to fostering widespread community involvement in a supportive sporting atmosphere. The race schedule includes a 10km race at 7 am, followed by a 5km race at 7.05 am, a 2.5km race at 7.10 am, and a 1km race at 7.30 am.

Registration remains open until the participant limit is reached, with over 1,000 runners expected. A diverse turnout is anticipated, including citizens, residents, families, amateur athletes, and People of Determination. The event seeks to inspire active living as a daily habit and shared value within the community.
To boost participation and encourage healthy competition, cash prizes will be awarded to top finishers in each category. Additionally, all participants who complete the run will receive commemorative medals and gifts. This initiative aims to motivate individuals to incorporate regular physical activity into their lives while recognising their efforts.
Sheikha Dr. Shamma bint Mohammed bin Khalid Al Nahyan stated that the event aims to inspire active living as a daily habit and shared value within the community. "The Al Ain Community Run Challenge...is a far-reaching event," she said. "By bringing the community together...sports become a daily habit and a shared value."
Aref Hamad Al Awani from Abu Dhabi Sports Council expressed pride in launching this event under Sheikh Hazza's patronage. "We are proud to launch...a key supporter of sports development in the UAE," he said. The run reflects ongoing efforts to expand sports participation and promote physical activity as essential for a healthy lifestyle.
