Al Ain Book Festival 2024 Inspires Children’s Imagination And Fosters A Love For Reading

The Al Ain Book Festival's 15th edition, organised by the Abu Dhabi Arabic Language Centre, has attracted many children eager to explore educational and inspiring books. This enthusiasm highlights a growing interest in reading among young people. The festival's vibrant atmosphere, with booths showcasing colourful and illustrated books, allows children to choose stories that ignite their imagination and educational materials that encourage discovery.

Children at the festival showed interest in classic tales of legendary heroes and interactive books that combine learning with play. Older children were particularly drawn to books on technology and environmental topics. Many young attendees expressed their love for stories that transport them to imaginative worlds, teaching them lessons in courage and friendship. Bassem Salim from Scroll Education Books noted the significant number of children buying books, indicating a rising awareness among families. "We have prepared a special collection of educational books and illustrated stories suitable for all ages, and we have received a warm welcome from both children and their parents," he said. Fouad Ali from Dar Al Qalam observed that books combining education with entertainment are very popular among children.

The festival organisers made efforts to attract publishers specialising in children's literature, aligning with the event's goal to foster a reading culture among youth. The design of children's books, including illustrations and interactive content, has been crucial in making them appealing to families visiting the festival. This reflects their passion for reading and sharing knowledge in an innovative environment.

Beyond offering educational books and captivating stories, the Al Ain Book Festival provided comprehensive programmes for children and youth. Fouad Ali explained their approach during the festival: "Throughout our participation at Al Ain Book Festival, we made sure to offer content that sparks children’s curiosity and motivates them to discover their world through stories centred around scientific and environmental adventures."
