RTA Launches Ajyal Summer Internship Programme For Emirati Students In 2025

Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has launched the 2025 Ajyal Summer Internship Programme. Scheduled from 7 July to 4 August 2025, this initiative targets 40 Emirati students from secondary schools and universities. The programme offers hands-on experience across RTA's various sectors, aiming to develop skills in engineering, technology, and administration.

The Ajyal programme is designed to blend theoretical knowledge with practical training. It includes both in-person and remote workshops, conducted in collaboration with top international academic platforms. These sessions aim to enhance creativity, communication, digital transformation, and sustainability skills among participants.

Participants will engage in field training that includes visits to strategic sites like the train depot for insights into operations and maintenance. They will also explore the Smart Number Plate Factory and RTA’s Research and Innovation Centre at the University of Birmingham, Dubai. Here, students will attend workshops on intellectual property and 3D printing.

The programme also features visits to the Museum of the Future for inspiration in innovation. Additionally, students will visit uSky company at University City, Sharjah, to learn about suspended transport systems. A field tour of RTA’s marine transport projects is also part of the itinerary.

This internship supports RTA’s mission to nurture national talent by providing field-based training opportunities. It allows participants to work directly on key infrastructure projects in Dubai, equipping them with practical skills essential for future employment. Secondary school students gain early exposure to professional environments, fostering career competencies.

Ajyal is an annual initiative aligned with national practices aimed at achieving Human Resources Strategy goals for 2025–2030. This strategy focuses on preparing human capital for future demands by enhancing recruitment, training, and talent development capabilities.

Upon completion of the programme, participants receive a financial reward along with a Summer Internship Certificate from RTA. This recognition underscores their commitment and newly acquired skills during the internship period.
