Ajman University Research Day Highlights Student Innovations Supporting UAE's Strategic Goals

Ajman University (AU) recently held its 8th Research Day, highlighting its dedication to innovation and sustainability. Organised by the Deanship of Research and Graduate Studies, this annual event brought together faculty, students, and representatives from various sectors to discuss how applied research can support the UAE's strategic goals. The event took place at Ajman Saray Hotel.

The event featured diverse student research projects tackling real-world issues in urban planning, public health, technology, design, and behavioural science. Engineering students explored sustainable freshwater systems using condensation technologies. Architecture students examined walkable urban designs for better livability and sensory-friendly spaces for autistic children.

Ajman University Showcases Innovative Research Projects

Marketing students analysed green consumer behaviour in the UAE. Law students focused on privacy rights in digital environments. Medical students investigated health access and clinical practices, while pharmacy researchers studied environmental risks and pharmaceutical advancements. Dentistry projects introduced innovations in oral care.

These projects reflect Ajman University's extensive research ecosystem, grounded in relevance and national impact. Humanities and social sciences students explored behavioural trends and media narratives. This breadth of research demonstrates AU's commitment to addressing societal challenges through interdisciplinary collaboration.

Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University, emphasised the importance of research in their mission: "Research is one of the key pillars of our mission and the cornerstone of our vision to nurture a knowledge-based and innovation-driven economy." He highlighted AU's commitment to fostering researchers who connect theory with practice.

Commitment to National Development Goals

Dr. Seghir also noted AU's alignment with national development goals: "As a non-profit institution, all our resources are utilised to strengthen the research environment... aligned with national development goals." He mentioned that AU aligns its research programs with 'UAE Vision 2071' and national agendas for innovation.

The event celebrated outstanding contributions from students and faculty, promoting a culture that links theory with practice across disciplines. Presentations allowed students to refine their work through expert feedback and networking opportunities with industry professionals.

Ajman University demonstrated its role in advancing youth empowerment and intellectual capital investment by focusing resources on innovation, education, and research.
