Ajman Records 7% Increase In Tourism Revenue In Early 2024
The Emirate of Ajman has reported a notable increase in its tourism sector's performance for the first quarter of 2024. With a 7% rise in total tourism revenue, the region is experiencing positive growth. This upturn is attributed to a 3% increase in hotel occupancy rates and a significant 9% surge in the number of visitors compared to the first quarter of 2023. Furthermore, tourists are choosing to extend their stays, with the average hotel stay duration witnessing a 5% increase.
On the eve of its participation in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2024, scheduled from May 6-9 at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the Ajman Tourism Development Department released these figures. The Department's presence at ATM 2024 aims to highlight Ajman's rich cultural heritage, its diverse tourism offerings, and the sector's impressive growth. Additionally, it seeks to forge strategic partnerships to boost cooperation and cement Ajman's status as a premier global tourism destination.

Looking back at 2023, October emerged as a particularly strong month for Ajman's tourism sector. There was a 5% increase in tourism activities, which led to an 11% jump in visitor numbers. This rise in occupancy rates also contributed to a 5% growth in revenue per available room (RevPAR), culminating in an overall annual revenue increase of 11%.
This positive trajectory underscores Ajman's growing appeal as a tourist destination and reflects the successful strategies implemented by the Ajman Tourism Development Department to attract more visitors. As Ajman continues to enhance its tourism offerings and develop strategic partnerships, it is well-positioned for further growth in this sector.
