Ajman's Leader Urges Increased Community Understanding Of Endowments' Role

H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, a member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Ajman, has emphasized the importance of enhancing public understanding of endowments and their significant role in fostering sustainable development within the community. This focus is aimed at encouraging the initiation of new endowment projects and initiatives throughout the emirate. In a move to further understand the social benefits of these endowments, Sheikh Humaid has instructed relevant parties to delve into their humanitarian and social impacts, highlighting their historical importance in promoting social cohesion and supporting various humanitarian causes.

During a review session with H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, the outcomes of the "Endowments in the Emirate of Ajman for 2023" report were discussed. This report, a collaborative effort between the Ajman Statistics Centre and other pertinent authorities, revealed that Ajman is home to 222 endowments, both real estate and non-real estate, valued at a total of AED1.989 billion, contributed by 166 donors. A significant 94 percent of the returns from these endowments are directed towards institutions managing mosque affairs, general welfare, and education.

Ajman Ruler Focuses on Endowment Awareness

The findings also showed that 79 percent of these endowments are managed by entities specializing in endowment management, indicating a high level of community trust in these organizations. Sheikh Humaid remarked on the importance of such reports, noting that they provide essential data for making informed decisions regarding the management and strategic planning for endowments. This, in turn, aids in the development and execution of plans aimed at sustainable community growth.

Sheikh Ammar echoed the sentiments on the value of endowments in Ajman, stressing the commitment to enhancing endowment and charitable projects as per Sheikh Humaid's directives. These efforts are geared towards improving the quality of life for citizens and residents by providing a stable living environment. Furthermore, Sheikh Ammar encouraged ongoing efforts from both individuals and institutions within the community to engage in endowment initiatives, aiming for sustainable development through these charitable acts.
