Ajman Municipality's 9th Community Majlis Emphasises Media's Vital Role In Community Engagement
The Municipality and Planning Department - Ajman (MPDA) recently organised the 9th Community Majlis session, themed "Media and society: an impact that speaks." This event was attended by Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director General of MPDA, and Mohammed Al Kaabi, CEO of the Ajman Government Media Office. Senior officials, media representatives, experts, and notable media professionals also participated.
Abdulrahman Al Nuaimi commended the media's role in enhancing MPDA's reputation and the Emirate's image. He highlighted how media efforts showcase achievements and projects that benefit the community. "The media is a true partner in conveying the government’s message to the public and in building bridges of trust between the institution and society," Al Nuaimi affirmed.

Mohammed Al Kaabi emphasised how media plays a crucial role in promoting national heritage and preserving Ajman's cultural legacy. "The media today has become more than a channel for news; it is a true mirror reflecting the Ajman 2030 vision, which embraces the motto ‘Ajman: From the People and for the People’," Al Kaabi noted.
The session began by highlighting how media strengthens community engagement and builds trust between institutions, citizens, and residents. It serves as a platform for exchanging views on challenges and opportunities within community media. Discussions underscored collaboration between media and government to amplify positive messaging.
Al Nuaimi stressed interactive media's importance as a tool for raising awareness and promoting positivity across various fields. The Majlis spotlighted pioneering contributions in media, featuring Emirati photographer Hind AlRaeesi who shared insights from her sports media career. Hessa Al Baloushi presented Wasl Channel, a local platform dedicated to engaging communities and fostering stronger social bonds among members.
Al Kaabi explained that interactive, community-driven media has yielded outstanding results by preserving timeless stories and maintaining a deeply rooted identity. Open engagement with all societal segments contributes significantly to this success.
The event concluded with fruitful discussions among participants who exchanged ideas on enhancing community media's effectiveness. The dialogue highlighted how collaboration between media entities can ensure effective public engagement while supporting Ajman's strategic goals.
