Ajman Executive Council Endorses New Human Resources Law Principles To Enhance Employee Wellbeing
The Ajman Executive Council, led by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, has endorsed the core principles for updating the Human Resources Law for Ajman's government. This initiative seeks to align employment policies with Ajman Vision 2030, aiming to improve the quality of life for government employees and their families while creating a supportive work environment.
The decision was reached during a session of the Executive Council, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, as part of the 2025 UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi. The project introduces a comprehensive system of family-related leave to support families and parents.

The proposed law includes flexible work models tailored to meet the needs of government entities and job requirements. Employees can choose flexible weekly working hours instead of fixed daily schedules. It also approves remote work options both within and outside the UAE, aiming to boost productivity and job satisfaction.
To promote an inclusive work environment for people of determination, the law mandates that government entities provide suitable facilities and adaptive equipment. It also stipulates reduced daily working hours and protects against termination due to pre-existing disability conditions at appointment time.
The project introduces various types of leave, including childcare or care for first-degree relatives, maternity, paternity, marriage leave, bereavement, mourning, and caring for people of determination. Flexible working hours are available for pregnant employees and parents with five or more children to enhance family cohesion.
This strategic initiative aims to foster an attractive institutional environment balancing work and personal life. By adopting these measures, it seeks to enhance employees' psychological health, happiness, satisfaction, and productivity while promoting a positive workplace culture.
The draft law underscores institutional wellbeing and achieving work-life balance as essential components. It aims to create a sustainable work culture that enhances employees' overall wellbeing and fosters a positive workplace atmosphere.
