Ajman Chamber's Abdullah Al Muwaiji Participates In Arab German Health Forum To Discuss Healthcare Cooperation
Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Ajman Chamber, attended the 16th Arab German Health Forum in Berlin. Representing the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) in the UAE, he discussed partnerships between the UAE, Arab nations, and Germany in healthcare and medical tourism. The forum also explored investment opportunities and addressed global healthcare challenges, attracting decision-makers, healthcare professionals, investors, and business owners.
Al Muwaiji highlighted that the forum covered various topics such as the future of healthcare, pharmaceutical developments, biopharmaceuticals, medical tourism, and the impact of innovation and AI on healthcare. He stressed the forum's role as a platform for enhancing cooperation between Arab countries and Germany. This is particularly significant given the growth in Arab-German trade to EUR 62.1 billion in 2023, marking a 20% increase from 2022. The UAE and Saudi Arabia lead in trade volume with Germany.

The UAE is focusing on developing its healthcare system and encouraging investments in pharmaceuticals. This sector is a national priority to improve quality of life through infrastructure development, pharmaceutical manufacturing, education, and medical tourism. Al Muwaiji noted that the UAE offers diverse investment opportunities due to its strategic location and affordable treatment costs. The country is becoming a regional hub for medical tourism.
Ajman places great importance on healthcare under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi and H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. Ajman has developed a robust healthcare infrastructure with leading hospitals and universities at both state and regional levels. The emirate aims to boost investments in medical sectors.
Al Muwaiji explained that the medical sector significantly impacts GDP growth. In Germany, it contributes 12% to GDP due to advancements in medical equipment and pharmaceuticals. He praised UAE's efforts in enhancing healthcare performance through comprehensive infrastructure development. This not only improves quality of life but also boosts GDP growth by attracting investments, creating jobs, increasing productivity, and reducing long-term care costs.
During discussions with international officials at the forum, Al Muwaiji explored ways to strengthen trade relations in healthcare and pharmaceuticals. He presented investment opportunities available in the UAE and Ajman while highlighting facilities provided to investors. Additionally, he exchanged insights on cutting-edge healthcare technologies to further develop this sector.
