UAE Highlights Commitment To Investment-Led Growth And Global Partnerships At AIM Congress 2025

The UAE's dedication to investment-driven growth and global partnerships was highlighted by Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, during the AIM Congress 2025 in Abu Dhabi. This event serves as a significant platform for discussions on sustainable investments and technological progress. Dr. Al-Zeyoudi emphasised the UAE's commitment to international projects, allocating $22.3 billion in 2023 to various sectors like infrastructure and renewable energy.

Denis Sassou Nguesso, President of the Republic of Congo, shared his vision for sustainable development at the congress. He outlined Congo's strategic plans to modernise infrastructure and promote clean energy initiatives. Highlighting Congo's natural resources, he positioned the country as a key trade gateway with vast potential for transformation and international investment.

UAE Emphasises Investment-Led Growth at AIM Congress

Vahagn Garniki Khachaturyan, President of Armenia, stressed the importance of strategic investments in innovation and education during his address. He highlighted Armenia's focus on building hubs for AI and robotics to prepare youth for future challenges. The President also called for simplified investment procedures and stronger international cooperation to tackle global issues like poverty and inequality.

Ahmed Aboul Gheit, Secretary General of the League of Arab States, emphasised unity and strategic investment across the Arab world amid global challenges. He noted the region's youthful population as a significant opportunity for economic development through entrepreneurship and innovation.

Judith Suminwa Tuluka, Prime Minister of the Democratic Republic of Congo, discussed her nation's investment potential despite ongoing challenges. She highlighted Congo’s mineral wealth and fertile land as key assets while acknowledging infrastructure constraints shaped by past conflicts. Tuluka encouraged global investors to view DRC as a hub for sustainable development.

Sheikh Ebrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa addressed socioeconomic gaps in emerging economies, focusing on youth development and financial empowerment. He stressed the need for financial inclusion to support micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), especially those led by women.

Technological Innovation and Economic Growth

Rustam Minnikhanov from Tatarstan highlighted the region’s rapid growth driven by technological innovation. He pointed out Tatarstan’s strong infrastructure and support for SMEs through Special Economic Zones (SEZs) as crucial growth engines. The Rais also mentioned emerging sectors like digital transformation aligning with global trends.

Günther Oettinger warned about rising geopolitical instability affecting globalization during his speech at AIM Congress 2025. He expressed concerns over escalating trade tensions that could lead to a global trade war, urging a return to stable rules-based globalization.

Southeast Asia's Strategic Response

Madame Le Thi Thu Thuy from Vietnam discussed Southeast Asia’s resilience amid global trade tensions. She highlighted how geopolitical disruptions are reshaping economic dynamics but noted Southeast Asia’s strategic importance in navigating these challenges effectively.

The session concluded with Hojamyrat Geldimyradov from Turkmenistan discussing Europe's changing energy security dynamics due to recent geopolitical shifts. The dialogue emphasised inclusive frameworks supporting mutual growth amidst interconnected global priorities.
