AIM Congress 2024 Unveils IPA Perception Study To Boost Global Investment Strategies
The AIM Perception Study 2024, a pivotal project for Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), was unveiled at the 2024 AIM Congress held at ADNEC in Abu Dhabi. This initiative is the result of a collaborative effort involving AIM Congress, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA), and KPMG. It aims to significantly enhance the global investment promotion landscape.
The launch event featured prominent speakers and panelists such as Mohit Bhasin, Partner at KPMG; Walid Farghal, Director General of AIM Congress; Ismail Ersahin, CEO & Executive Director of WAIPA; and Stefan Kratzsch, Team Lead at UNIDO. Walid Farghal's opening remarks underscored the IPA Survey's vital role in boosting the capabilities of Investment Promotion Agencies globally. He emphasized IPAs' contribution to attracting investments and spurring economic growth.

"Our main objective is clear: to launch the IPA Survey—a crucial step in scaling up the capabilities of Investment Promotion Agencies around the world," Walid Farghal stated during his speech.
Ismail Ersahin highlighted the importance of collaboration in conducting the survey, focusing on aligning IPA services with investor needs to improve global investment support. "Together, we believe we can make a difference in the services we provide to investors all over the world," Ersahin remarked.
Stefan Kratzsch discussed the survey's objectives and methodology, particularly its emphasis on digitalization and adapting to new trends. He pointed out a significant gap in digitalization among IPAs identified in last year's report, stressing the survey's role in monitoring changes and ensuring effective support. "Our aim is to create a platform that generates leads and fosters investment," Kratzsch explained.
The AIM Perception Study 2024 seeks to collect insights, best practices, and key data from IPAs across the globe. By promoting collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and capacity-building, it aims to empower IPAs to excel in investment promotion and sustainable economic development.
The 2024 AIM Congress has attracted more than 150 high-level dignitaries, with over 900 speakers and 12,000 participants from 175 countries. Additionally, AIM Congress has organized 27 joint events in cooperation with more than 330 local, international, and global partners, showcasing its extensive reach and influence in the investment promotion sector.
