2024 AIM Congress Highlights Investment In Health Security And Sustainable Agriculture

The 2024 AIM Congress, hosted at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from May 7th to May 9th, brought together a diverse group of industry leaders, policymakers, and visionaries. Discussions emphasized the importance of international partnerships, with a focus on strengthening ties between China and the UAE. Dr. Khaled Hanafy from the Union of Arab Chambers and Shenwei Hua from the Shanghai Municipal Commission shared their perspectives on economic development and trade relations.

The AIM Congress also tackled critical issues in global health security and sustainable local production. Dr. Jicui Dong of the World Health Organization's World Local Production Forum (WLPF) Secretariat welcomed attendees, highlighting collaborative efforts to ensure access to essential medicines. Mansoor Ibrahim Al Mansoori's keynote addressed equitable pathways for health innovation. Technology transfer and local production were identified as key strategies by Prof. Abderrahmane Maaroufi and Prof. Frederick Abbott for bridging health disparities.

Climate Smart Agriculture: A Sustainable Future

The International Partners' Track session on "Climate Smart Agriculture (CSA): The Future of Sustainability in Food and Agriculture Sectors" brought to light sustainable agricultural practices. Moderated by Jose Francisco Fernandez Serna, discussions with Averianov Aleksandr of Terroir Concept SPBU LLC, and Dr. Shamal Mohammed from Silal, underscored the need for financial and institutional support for farmers adopting sustainable technologies. The session explored both opportunities and challenges in horticulture and the role of technology in food security.
