Aid Foresight Programme Launches To Strengthen UAE's Humanitarian Leadership Through Innovation
The Zayed Foundation recently hosted the launch of the Aid Foresight Programme, a series of masterclasses aimed at enhancing the UAE's humanitarian leadership. This initiative, announced by the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council (IHPC), Office of Development Affairs, and the Presidential Court, seeks to transform aid delivery through advanced tools, collaboration, and leadership.
The programme is structured around four key pillars: education, capacity building, experience sharing, and strategic networking. These elements are designed to enhance leadership in an ever-changing aid and development environment. The UAE aims to develop a future-ready foreign aid model by focusing on leadership growth, ecosystem enhancement, innovation, knowledge sharing, and collaboration.

Dr. Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Director of the Office of Development Affairs, emphasised the UAE's dedication to global cooperation in aid and development. He stated, "It highlights the UAE’s willingness to learn from external expertise, networks and resources, underscoring its unique position in the global ecosystem as a unifying force working to bridge divides and achieve shared goals."
The programme aims to equip leaders with skills to rethink aid delivery using innovation, technology, and strategic partnerships. It combines diplomacy, development, and data to tackle modern crises with comprehensive solutions. The initiative is based on the belief that the UAE can redefine regional and global aid at a time when global priorities are shifting and donor budgets are shrinking.
Dr. Al Ameri also noted that in today's reactive world, there is a need for proactive approaches. He said that "the future of aid depends on anticipation and agility," highlighting that initiatives like this programme are essential for developing adaptive leadership in aid sectors.
Comprehensive Curriculum
Over five days, participants will explore various topics such as innovation in government, data analytics in development and humanitarian aid, developments across Africa, East Asia and Latin America. Other areas include partnerships and resources management, climate and health diplomacy, innovative financing methods, and how geopolitical changes affect aid.
The programme underscores the importance of adopting advanced features like digital tools for better delivery tracking and coordination. This approach reflects the UAE's commitment to leading with foresight in humanitarian efforts globally.
The Aid Foresight Programme represents a significant step towards redefining how humanitarian assistance is conceptualised and delivered. By integrating modern strategies with traditional practices, it aims to create a more effective framework for addressing global challenges in aid distribution.
