Aid Foresight Programme Concludes In Abu Dhabi, Equipping Leaders For Future Humanitarian Challenges

The Aid Foresight Programme, a series of masterclasses for the UAE’s humanitarian leadership, concluded at the Zayed Foundation. Organised by the International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Council (IHPC) and the Office of Development Affairs, Presidential Court, this initiative featured globally renowned experts. It marked a successful end to a week filled with dynamic sessions aimed at enhancing humanitarian efforts.

Throughout the five-day event, participants explored core challenges and opportunities in the evolving humanitarian landscape. The programme focused on innovation, leadership, government capacity development, data analytics in aid, and developments across Africa, East Asia, and Latin America. Strategic partnerships, climate diplomacy, innovative financing, and geopolitics were also key topics.

Distinguished speakers included Bart Fonteyne, former ENABEL Senior Advisor; Hosuk Lee-Makiyama, Executive Director of ECIPE; and Beatriz Nofal, former Special Representative for G20 Affairs for Argentina. They shared insights alongside other global experts in aid and development sectors.

Bart Fonteyne highlighted the programme's impact: "The Aid Foresight Programme will shape future UAE humanitarian efforts by equipping leaders with the context, concepts and tools to anticipate change and respond with agility." His remarks underscored how these insights could inspire innovative approaches across philanthropic organisations.

Beatriz Nofal echoed this sentiment: "These efforts will enhance the UAE’s ability to engage effectively in crisis-affected regions using cutting-edge humanitarian strategies." She emphasised that continuous learning supports sustainable partnerships tailored to address global challenges.
