AI-Powered Sawaher System Enhances Security And Management For Hajj Pilgrims In 1446 AH

The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) has played a pivotal role in enhancing the Hajj experience for 1446 AH. By collaborating with the Ministry of Interior, they have implemented the Sawaher system, which uses data and AI technologies to improve safety and efficiency. This system analyses broadcasts, videos, and images from smart cameras, offering advanced analytical capabilities.

For this year's Hajj, more than 5,000 cameras were integrated into the Sawaher system. These cameras cover over 80 permanent and seasonal locations at holy sites and key entry points. This network supports over 18 government agencies dedicated to serving pilgrims, empowering more than 600 users from their teams.

SDAIA has developed over 16 algorithms specifically for managing crowds during Hajj. These algorithms are crucial for density and crowd counting, aiding government agencies in implementing effective Hajj plans. The system provides real-time updates through sophisticated interfaces, ensuring accurate pilgrim counts.

The Sawaher system offers more than 80 distinct services and has equipped over 100 workstations within operations rooms and monitoring centres. This comprehensive technological integration significantly enhances response efficiency throughout the Hajj season.

To support decision-making processes, SDAIA has provided over 20 dashboards. These tools are essential for analysing vast datasets and developing customised analyses to measure Hajj indicators and pilgrim behaviour. The system's advanced algorithms offer crucial support in these areas.

This extensive technological setup has bolstered efforts across various government agencies involved in the Hajj season. The integration of cutting-edge technology ensures a safer experience for pilgrims by improving analytical capabilities and operational efficiency.
