AI Infrastructure Partnership Expands With NVIDIA And XAI To Boost AI Data Centre Investments
BlackRock, Global Infrastructure Partners (GIP), Microsoft, and MGX have announced that NVIDIA and xAI are joining the AI Infrastructure Partnership (AIP). This collaboration aims to enhance technology leadership by investing in advanced AI infrastructure. NVIDIA will continue advising AIP, using its expertise in accelerated computing and AI factories to guide the development of next-generation AI data centre infrastructure.
The partnership has gained significant interest since its start in September 2024. It plans to unlock $30 billion from investors, asset owners, and corporations. This could lead to a total investment potential of $100 billion when including debt financing. The focus is on expanding AI-ready data centres and power solutions.

GE Vernova and NextEra Energy have agreed to work with AIP to speed up the scaling of essential energy solutions for AI data centres. GE Vernova will also collaborate on supply chain planning and delivering innovative, efficient energy solutions. Their goal is to support the rapid growth of AI by developing necessary infrastructure.
AIP's investments will primarily target the U.S., OECD countries, and U.S. partners. This approach aims to drive AI innovation, economic growth, and the advancement of digital and energy infrastructure. The addition of NVIDIA and xAI strengthens AIP’s commitment to an open-architecture platform that supports a diverse range of partners.
H.H. Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of MGX, stated, "Artificial Intelligence is not just an industry of the future; it underpins the future." He emphasized that welcoming new partners will accelerate innovation for global economic productivity gains. The focus remains on responsible AI development for humanity's benefit.
Jensen Huang, founder and CEO of NVIDIA, remarked that building AI infrastructure globally will benefit companies and countries aiming for economic growth. He noted that NVIDIA’s full-stack AI infrastructure would convert data into intelligence, accelerating industries and achieving breakthroughs.
