Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, inaugurated the Big 5 Global Leaders’ Summit. He emphasised that the UAE is a global leader in integrating sustainability into construction by using advanced technologies. "The construction sector in the UAE is witnessing a major shift towards sustainability through the integration of modern technology and smart practices that support the achievement of our national goals," he stated.

Al Mazrouei noted that comprehensive guidelines have been developed for sustainability across construction, maintenance, and housing sectors. These include standards for energy consumption and sustainable materials use. He stressed these efforts align with promoting sustainable urban development in line with national vision.

Innovation is crucial in construction and infrastructure development, according to Al Mazrouei. The 'UAE National Guide for Smart Construction' standardises smart practices across new projects. This ensures smart technologies lead in construction. The 3D Digital Twin project further enhances urban planning by mapping infrastructure for better livability and sustainability.

Al Mazrouei highlighted that addressing today's sustainability challenges requires cooperation between public and private sectors. "We in the UAE believe that strong partnerships and innovation are the key to building a sustainable future that keeps pace with the aspirations of future generations," he added.
